Nutrition and Food Science consists of learning about nutrition and the science of food, including; food systems, sustainability, and global and national food policy.

What is Nutrition and Food Science Research?

Nutrition and Food Science Research is a field that studies the composition, properties, and effects of food on human health, encompassing aspects like nutrient analysis, food processing, food safety, dietary patterns, and the relationship between food intake and disease development.

Utilizing scientific methods to understand how food impacts our bodies at various levels - from the molecular to the population level; essentially, it aims to develop knowledge that can be used to promote healthy eating habits and prevent nutrition-related diseases.

Getting Help! 

Ask a librarian for research help before you get frustrated! There are a few ways you can get help:

Reference Desk in the Library: The library is currently open Mondays and Tuesdays from 10am - 6pm.  This is scheduled to change on Oct 1 to Monday - Thursday 10am - 6pm 

Online Chat: Librarians are online Monday - Thursday 8am - 9pm, Fridays 8am- 3pm, and Saturdays 10am - 3pm.  Look for the chat icon image of chat icon in the bottom right corner of the library webpages. 

Research Appointments: Schedule a one-on-one appointment with a librarian to help you get started with your library research!
